Capella 43
About:
CAPELLA 43 — or C43 — is a studio for photography, art direction, and rental, on Fuhrmannsgasse in Vienna's Josefstadt.
Founded by Lisa Leutner and Patrick Rieser, two photographers with distinct but complementary approaches: Lisa specializes in portrait and reportage photography and works internationally as a photojournalist for Thomson Reuters. Patrick focuses on still life and product photography — and builds cameras, sets, and an ever-growing archive of props along the way.
Together, they founded C43. What do they do? Portraits, reportage, product and still life photography — for people and for brands.
Starting in January 2024, Grafik Apartment and C43 have developed the studio’s visual identity. The logotype and primary typeface: Roumald by Erkin Karamemet — a modern interpretation of 19th-century Anglo-American neo-classic type. Its blend of historic references and modern refinement mirrors Lisa and Patrick’s own fascination with the evolution of both typography and camera technology.
And Capella? It’s a star — in the constellation of the Charioteer (Fuhrmann). 43 light years away. A reminder to look up every now and then. And to look up www.c43.at .
